Nuchal Scan

11+3 to 13+6 weeks (CRL 45-83mm)

Overview:

Performed at 11+3 to 13+6 weeks, this comprehensive 30-minute examination (over the tummy!) is one of the most important screenings in pregnancy. Dr. Tena’s FMF training under prof Nicolaides, who discovered Nuchal translucency and introduced combined screening, ensures thorough evaluation of all fetal structures and markers for chromosomal and congenital abnormalities. Known as the ‘mini anomaly scan’, this detailed assessment provides crucial information in the first trimester.

Comprehensive Assessment:

We examine Nuchal Translucency, Nasal Bone, Ductus Venosus, Tricuspid Regurgitation, Fetal Heart Rate, entire anatomy, uterine dopplers and more. The scan provides precise dating and detects anatomical defects visible at this age.

Combined Screening:

Combined with blood work we assess risk for chromosomal abnormalities, preeclampsia and growth restriction. Blood drawn before your appointment (ideally at 10-11 weeks) gives immediate results; same-day blood draw provides results in the next 2-3 working days.
